Centre County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days — eight on Sunday and two on Monday — to bring its total to 16,689, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Monday’s total is the county’s lowest single-day increase since Aug. 26.
Pennsylvania added 1,111 new positives on Sunday and 872 on Monday, the lowest single-day total since Oct. 5. The state has had a total of 1,187,115 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The county also had 101 negative test results over the two days to increase its total to 69,165. Across Pennsylvania, there were 9,411 new negatives for a total of 4,519,018.
DOH reported one new COVID-19 death among Centre County residents on Sunday, bringing the county’s total to 222.
With 67 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide on Sunday and 17 on Monday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 26,833.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 12 COVID-19 inpatients as of Monday morning, an increase of three since Saturday. The patients range in age from 21 to 88, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 1,436 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 137 since Saturday, with 342 patients in intensive care [-15] and 226 on ventilators [-5].
An estimated 92% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
As of Monday morning, 62,443 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 16,321 are partially covered.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov. The state-run Regional Vaccination Clinic at the Bryce Jordan Center offers vaccines to individuals 18 and older by appointment or walk-in.
Among Centre County’s cases, 15,212 are confirmed and 1,477 are probable. Statewide, 997,127 are confirmed and 189,988 are probable.
