State High Linebacker Jake Lukac Commits to Penn State

Penn State picked up its second commitment of the day from a local linebacker.

State College Area High School’s Jake Lukac, son of former Nittany Lion tight end Mike Lukac, committed on Wednesday evening as a preferred walk-on, he announced on X.

Lukac played multiple positions in high school but was recruited as a linebacker. He totaled 24 tackles, including 5.5 for loss, and 3.5 sacks as a senior in 2025. As a tight end, Lukac amassed 20 receptions for 165 yards and four touchdowns.

Lukac’s commitment comes hours after Penn State landed a pledge from a fellow class of 2026 prospect, three-star edge rusher Elijah Reeder. Penn State’s class ranks No. 72 nationally and has steadily risen up the board after head coach Matt Campbell was hired.

The 2026 class also includes commitments from State High running back D’Antae Sheffey and wide receiver/cornerback Hank Lustig, son of special teams coordinator Justin Lustig. Other alumni on the roster include cornerback Donte Nastasi, safety Jashaun Green and tight end Finn Furmanek.
