Defensive tackle Alonzo Ford Jr. is hoping to hear his name called during the 2026 NFL draft after two seasons at Penn State and six total in college football.
As an overlooked recruit with few offers, Ford landed at Old Dominion, where he totaled 72 tackles and four sacks across three seasons before transferring to join the Nittany Lions.
Ford missed the entire 2023 season with injury before playing rotationally the last two years, accumulating 34 tackles, three quarterback pressures and an interception.
He scheduled local days with the New York Jets and New York Giants, meaning a return to The Big Apple where he posted three tackles in a Pinstripe Bowl victory over Clemson in December.
Throughout early conversations, Ford has gotten productive feedback.
“Just keep working,” Ford said. “I mean, they like my game a little bit. They like what I can do on the field and how I play aggressively, doing the dirty work nobody wants to do, and I take pride in doing that dirty work. So they like that.”
