Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts

Schlow Centre Region Library will host its annual BookFest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the BookFest tent in the library’s parking lot.

The rain had just begun to clear, the sun started to emerge, and Greg Glenn was back to work on Friday afternoon. For nearly 20 years, Glenn has been creating one of the most popular attractions at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts: the annual sand sculpture in Sidney Friedman Park.

Volunteers are again this year aiming to keep trash from the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts from heading to landfills, through the use of a wider selection of recycling options and manpower to tear it all down.
