STATE COLLEGE — South Hills School of Business & Technology recently announced that Jessica Becker, a graduate of the medical assistant program, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Association of Career Schools Distinguished Graduate Award.
The Mid-Atlantic Association of Career Schools presents the Distinguished Graduate Award each year to graduates who serve as outstanding examples of the value of career education through their perseverance, professionalism, and success.
After experiencing a life-changing accident that required months of recovery and rehabilitation, Baker remained committed to her dream of working in healthcare.
She returned to South Hills with renewed determination, excelled academically, graduated with Highest Honors, and is now beginning her career as a Medical Assistant.
“Jessica’s journey has been incredible to watch,” said Natalie Beaver, Director of Education. “She has overcome challenges that would have caused many people to give up, but she stayed focused on her goal. Her resilience, compassion, and determination make this recognition truly well deserved.
“We are incredibly proud of Jessica and all that she has accomplished,” Beaver added. “She represents the very best of South Hills, and I have no doubt she will make a positive impact on every patient and community she serves throughout her career.
