Hopkins is Bellefonte School Board hopeful
PLEASANT GAP — Holly Hopkins of Pleasant Gap has announced that she is a write-in candidate for the Bellefonte School Board. Hopkins is a dental hygienist and local historian. She was chosen by the board to fill a vacant seat in April after a member resigned. The general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Local business donates $30K to THON
El Jefe’s Taqueria, 352 E. Calder Way, State College, recently donated every penny from every sale for the 20 hours they were open from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 until Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 4 a.m. There were lines out the door, down East Calder Way, and around the corner onto South Garner Street for much of the day. With 2,201 customers who ordered, El Jefe’s Taqueria generated $30,864 in total sales to THON. This was the fourth annual El Jefe’s Benefitting THON event.
