CENTRE COUNTY — The 2025 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference Boys Golf Championship was held at Ebensburg Country Club on September 17.
Philipsburg-Osceola finished in Fourth Place in the stroke-play team event behind No. 1 Bishop Guilfoyle, West-Hilltop, and Central Cambria.
The Mounties had five golfers entered led by Jake Lucas who shot an 86.
Wade Habovick was the overall medalist in the tournament with a 4-over 75, and James Webb from Westmont finished second with a 76.
Colby Carlson from Westmont, Aidan Sheehan from Guilfoyle, Andrew Kasecky from Central Cambria and Carter Boland from Guilfoyle all finished in a tie for third with 77s.
Beside Lucas, other area golfers included Fisher White from P-O, 86, Gavin Chalfa from Bellefonte, 87, Kory Lutz, Bellefonte, 89, Parker Lamb, P-O, 92, Ryan Kolbe, P-O, 93, Nick DeSimone, P-O, 94, Joey Swinosky, Bellefonte, 98, and Evan Von Gunden, Bellefonte, 98.
On the girls’ side, the LHAC Tournament was held at Park Hills CC in Altoona with the top medalist being Crosby Denis of Hollidaysburg who shot a 79.
Lazmine Boland of Central Cambria and Alexiz Peacock from Hollidaysburg finished second.
Maddyx Hampton of Philipsburg-Osceola finished tied for seventh place.
In the Mid Penn Conference, the State College Little Lions are presently in Second Place in the Commonwealth Division with a 13-2 record, one game behind leader Hershey with a 14-1 record.
The Conference will hold its MPC Golf Championships today, September 25, at Range End Country Club in Dillsburg, Pa.
The LHAC schools will now move on to the Sectional Tournaments, scheduled for the week of September 23, and the District 6 Tournament.
The PIAA Tournament is scheduled for October 20-22 at the Penn State Golf Courses in State College.
The Individual Championships will be held on Monday and Tuesday, October 20-21 on the Blue Course (3A) and White Course (2A).
The Team Championships will be held on October 22 with the 3A Championship on the Blue Course and the 2A Championship on the White Course.
