HARRIS TOWNSHIP — A home in Harris Township was heavily damaged by a residential fire that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 21, just before noon in the 2500 block of Shingletown Road.
Both the Boalsburg and Alpha Fire Companies responded to the scene where a “manufactured” home was engulfed in flames. The crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
According to the emergency responders, the homeowner suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported by Centre LifeLink EMS to be treated at the hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Centre Region Fire Marshal’s Office.
