Bellefonte Library Friends Mini Golf Event — Friday, Aug. 8
Guests are invited for an evening full of fun from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte.
The event shows support for the Bellefonte Library Friends and there will be snacks, prizes, raffles and games.

Community Picnic Sing — Friday, Aug. 8
There will be a Community Picnic Sing on Friday, Aug. 8, behind the Fellowship Bible Church in Spring Mills. The picnic will start at 6 p.m. and the singing at 7 p.m. with the Needham’s.
Food and drinks will be provided, and guests are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket and their families and friends.
Saint Mark Summer Outdoor Concerts — Friday, Aug. 8
The Summer Outdoor Concert Series at Saint Mark will feature the Sugar Valley Band at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at the church in Howard.
There will be a fire to roast hot dogs, s’mores and more. Guests are asked to bring a blanket or chair for sitting and food to share if able.
Harvest Tasting — Friday, Aug. 8
There will be a Harvest Tasting from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Arboretum at Penn State in State College.
Guests are invited to come out and explore the flavors of the growing season with a taste of fresh produce grown in the beds of the children’s garden.
Friday Concert on the Village Green — Friday, Aug. 8
Acoustic Artifacts/Overhead will perform the Friday Concert on the Village Green from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Lemont Village Green in Lemont.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for sitting and are welcome to bring a picnic.
Ice cream cones will be served by Scout Troop 367, with a contribution to the troop for projects.
Drop-In Guided Tour: Art and Summer — Saturday, Aug. 9
Guests are invited to a drop-in guided tour at the Palmer Museum of Art at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, in State College.
The tour will revolve around the theme of art and summer as guests explore collections and exhibitions with a knowledgeable museum guide.
Full Moon Contra Dance — Saturday, Aug. 9
State College Friends School will co-host a family-friendly Full Moon Contra Dance from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the school in State College.
A beginner lesson will be offered at 6 p.m., and all dances are taught and easy to learn. Bruce Young will call the dances to live music by Strath Hanna, featuring Betsy Gamble on fiddle and John Collins on piano.
Refreshments will be available. Free-will donations are welcome to support the musicians and the school.

Kimmi Stogdill Memorial Tournament — Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug.10
The Fourth Annual Kimmi Stogdill Memorial Tournament will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at Pegula Ice Arena on the Penn State campus.
This two-day sled hockey tournament will feature the State College Coyotes, Johnstown and York’s brand-new team. Sled hockey is an adaptive sport in which players use sleds instead of skating, propelling themselves with sticks or pushers.
Admission is free. A basket raffle and merchandise will be available and donations are welcome. Parking fees apply at Pegula Ice Arena.
Summer Sounds from the Gazebo — Sunday, Aug. 10
Summer Sounds from the Gazebo will feature the Bellefonte Community Band playing a potpourri of music at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte.
The concert series began in 1981, bringing free mini-concerts to residents from June through August.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for sitting.
South Hills 2025 Summer Concert Series — Sunday, Aug. 10
The South Hills School of Business and Technology is hosting its 36th annual Summer Music Picnic Series, with the Nittany Valley Wranglers at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, on the North Lawn of the school in State College.
Music begins at 6 p.m. and guests are asked to bring their picnic dinner, drinks, chairs and blankets to enjoy music on the lawn. Lemonade will be available for a dollar a glass.
OLV Catholic Preschool Open House — Sunday, Aug. 10
Our Lady of Victory Catholic School will host a preschool open house from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Families are invited to tour the classrooms, meet the teachers and learn more about OLV’s faith-based, nurturing programs for 3- and 4-year-olds.

The new writing group is aimed at connecting and supporting local writers. Everyone is welcome to bring a project they’re working on or a book they’d like to read.

Nittany Baptist Church Children’s Program — Wednesday, Aug. 13
Nittany Baptist Church will have its AWANA program for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the church in State College.

The Palmer Museum of Art will host Creative Studio from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Participants are invited to relax, connect and explore art-making in a welcoming environment. Sessions are led by museum educators, interns or guest artists and focus on creativity, artistic mediums and personal expression rather than final products.

Quilting Open House — Thursday, Aug. 14
There will be a Quilting Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the State College YMCA.
Cosponsored by the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild and the YMCA, the event will feature quilt displays, live demonstrations and hands-on fun. Guests can try some easy techniques such as Exploding Pineapple, Charms on Point and Jelly Roll Races. Quilt Guild members will also be sharing stories about their quilting journeys.
