Downtown State College Farmers Market — Friday, May 23
The Downtown State College Farmers Market will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at the intersection of East College Avenue and Locust Lane in State College.
The market operates every Friday through Friday, Nov. 21, and features a variety of items for sale, including locally grown produce, plants, food, meat, flowers, wellness products and much more.
Bellefonte Farmers Market — Saturday, May 24
The Bellefonte Farmers Market is back in full swing from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 24, in the gravel parking lot adjacent to Centre Peace in Bellefonte.
There will be locally grown produce, frozen meats, live plants, dried florals, fresh eggs and much more.
North Atherton Farmers Market — Saturday, May 24
The North Atherton Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, in the Home Depot parking lot off North Atherton in State College.
NAFM is a producers-only farmers market, meaning that vendors are required to only sell what they produce, grow or make.
In addition to the produce, there are specialty bakeries, local food vendors, producers of farm-made products and much more.
Three Point Sportsman’s Association/Club Children’s Trout Fishing Rodeo — Sunday, May 25
The Three Point Sportsman’s Association/Club is hosting its Children’s Trout Rodeo from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at the Co Op grounds in Clarence.
There will be trophies and prizes awarded to kids in the age groups three through 12 and free fishing for teens 13 to 15. There will also be food and beverages for sale at the top Tent. It is also a PA Fish Commission Fish for Free Day.
Additionally, there will be a Blue Bird Nesting Box Building workshop at 11 a.m.
Print Factory Writing Group — Sunday, May 25
The Print Factory Writing Group will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at the Print Factory in Bellefonte.
The new writing group is aimed at connecting and supporting local writers. Everyone is welcome to bring a project they’re working on or a book they’d like to read.
Sunday Funday — Sunday, May 25
Smith + Front is teaming up with Brass 16823 for its 2025 Sunday Funday series from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, in the parking lot of Titan Energy Park in Bellefonte.
The event will feature a pop-up market, food trucks, live music and more.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group — Tuesday, May 27
Caregivers and loved ones of folks with Alzheimer’s and dementia are invited to participate in a support group from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, in room 220 of the State College Borough Building.
At the group, guests can find emotional support, community resources and a chance to connect with other community caregivers.
The event is free and registration is not required.
Improv 101 Free Sampler — Tuesday, May 27
Happy Valley Improv is offering a free two-hour Improv 101 Sampler Course at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, at the Blue Brick Theatre in downtown State College.
The event is designed for folks who are interested in taking an improv class but aren’t ready to commit to a six-week course.
At the sampler, guests will get hands-on basic improv experience and a chance to learn from others who have gone through the 101 course.

For those wanting to partake in the course after the sampler, the Improv 101 class will kick off on Tuesday, June 3, running for six weeks before wrapping up with a live performance.
Nittany Baptist Church Children’s Program — Wednesday, May 28
Nittany Baptist Church will have its AWANA program for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, at the church in State College.
The program is designed to build a spiritual foundation in children to help them navigate life using the nationally recognized AWANA program. The program will be in building two. For more information, call 814-360-7157.
Juniper Village at Brookline’s Jigsaw Jamboree — Thursday, May 29
Juniper Village at Brookline is partnering with Happy Valley Puzzles and the Centre County Active Adult Centre to host a puzzle swap and speed puzzling contest for folks 65 and older. The Jigsaw Jamboree will start at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, in the Willows Dining Room at Juniper in State College.
Guests will participate in teams of four to race to complete a 500 piece puzzle. Participants are invited to enjoy the competition, refreshments and fun with prizes awarded to the top three teams.

Smarter Parents Safer Kids Workshop — Thursday, May 29
Saint Mark Lutheran Church is partnering with the Youth Service Bureau and Centre Safe for the Smarter Parents Safer Kids Workshop at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at the church in Howard.
The program aims to help parents, guardians, educators and anyone who works with children improve how to communicate with kids and prevent sexual abuse through techniques and new skills.

Benjamin Franklin and an Educated Citizenry: A Presentation — Thursday, May 29
Guests are invited to join the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Society for the presentation “Benjamin Franklin and an Educated Citizenry,” led by Carla Mulford, at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at the Bellefonte Library. Mulford is a professor of English at Penn State.
The presentation will explore the 18th century educational theories and practices of Benjamin Franklin. Franklin believed that for America to succeed, it needs an informed citizenry. Mulford will speak about Franklin’s liberal eighteenth-century model of education and its influence on academic systems established in the 19th century.
The event is free and open to the public; no registration is required.
Open Mic at the Print Factory — Thursday, May 29
There will be open mic at the Print Factory in Bellefonte from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.
The biweekly event invites singing, storytelling and poetry with everything from original work to covers.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and all talents are welcome.
