Fall Festival at Way Fruit Farm — Friday, Oct. 3 and Saturday, Oct. 4
The event will be held at 2355 Halfmoon Valley Rd., Port Matilda starting Friday, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. and ending Saturday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. Food vendors, live music, Bunny Barn, craft market, face painting, wagon rides and local food sampling.
Pleasant Gap Vol. Fire Co. Fall Fest — Saturday, Oct. 4
Family friendly Fall Fest with kids events from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Pleasant Gap Vol. Fire Co., 475 Robinson Ln., Pleasant Gap. There will be wineries, breweries and distilleries on site, as well as vendors, goats, food and music.
Downtown State College Fall Fest — Saturday, Oct. 4
The Downtown State College Fall Fest is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, along South Allen Street in downtown State College. There will be free pumpkins for kids from Martin’s Garden Center Pumpkin Patch, with a pumpkin painting activity sponsored by Growing Trees Toys. There will also be food, pony rides, games, face painting, a photo station and more. The Youth Service Bureau, local nonprofits and local family organizations will have activities for kids as well.
Dutch Fall Festival — Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5
The annual Dutch Fall Festival is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Aaronsburg. There will be crafts, art, antiques, vendors, homemade treats, food, educational demonstrations, children’s activities and a quilt raffle.
Haunted Lake Loop Hike — Saturday, Oct. 4
The Haunted Lake Loop Hike will be from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Black Moshannon State Park in Philipsburg. Guests are invited to enjoy a good scare and laughs. Candy will be available for kids.

Third Annual Boal City Oktoberfest 5K Trail Race — Sunday, Oct. 5
The Third Annual Boal City Oktoberfest 5K Trail Race will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Boal City Brewing in Boalsburg. Kids 12 and younger can run with their friends and parents on the Mini Monster Trail Loop. Dress up for the race to show off your spooky side. Participants 21 and older will get a brew to keep the Halloween spirit going after the run.
Boalsburg Renaissance Faire — Sunday, Oct. 12
The Columbus Chapel and Boal Mansion Museum in Boalsburg will be hosting its annual Boalsburg Renaissance Faire from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Boalsburg. The event includes a wide range of arts and crafts vendors and demonstrations, axe-throwing adventures and history reenactors, children’s activities and a petting zoo, horse and carriage rides, Renaissance games for guests to experience and play, and live music and dance performances. An array of food vendors will be available. The entrance fee for this family-friendly day is $10 per person, with children 2 and under admitted for free. Museum tours are an additional $5.

Howard Vol. Fire Co. will host the Punkin’ Chunkin’ Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Bald Eagle State Park in Howard. The event features incredible pumpkin-flinging machines, local vendors, and thousands of attendees for a full day of free, family-friendly fun. Punkin’ Chunkin’ is the art of launching pumpkins through the air using catapults, trebuchets, and other engineered contraptions. Each year, teams from near and far show off their custom-built machines and send pumpkins soaring over the lake.

Rhoneymeade Arboretum Fall Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rhoneymeade, east of Boalsburg on state Route 45, then north on Rimmey Road. There will be plenty of activities, fun, games, and hands-on challenges, such as kite flying, paint your own pumpkin, and grow your own tree; meet several wild animals from the local wildlife care facility, and enjoy a delightful food selection. There will be directional signs posted for the event.

From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., this annual bazaar is open to the public and features food, baked goods, kid’s games, yard sale of toys, crafts, entertainment, theme basket raffle, and silent auction. The event is held at OLV School, 800 Westerly Parkway, State College.
Good Shepherd Catholic Church Fall Festival — Saturday, Nov. 15
The Good Shepherd Catholic Church Fall Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the church in Port Matilda. There will be food trucks, crafts for sale, kids’ activities, a play area, music and more.
