–Running back Kaytron Allen was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the week for his career-high 181-yard, 2-touchdown game at Michigan State on Saturday. Allen now ranks third on the all-time Penn State career rushing list with 3,794 yards. 

—Dani Dennis-Sutton was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his performance at Michigan State. Dennis-Sutton had two sacks against MSU and blocked his third punt of the season. Dennis-Sutton is on the Bednarik and Lombardi Award Watch Lists.

—Penn State will keep the Land Grant Trophy and is now 19-10 in the LGT games.

—Penn State, in interim head coach Terry Smith’s first win, ran the ball 50 times for 240 yards against MSU, the most rushing yardage this season. 

—Penn State also chalked up its longest play of the season when Ethan Grunkemeyer connected with Devonte Ross for a 75-yard touchdown in the second quarter at MSU. It was the longest completion since a Drew Allar to Tyler Warren 75-yarder in 2023 against Ole Miss.

—Grunkemeyer had two touchdown passes in the game–both to Ross–and now has four for the season. He had eight completions for 127 yards.

—This was Ross’s fourth career game with multiple touchdown receptions, and he now has five TD’s as a Nittany Lion. He also has five 20+ yard receptions this season.

—Penn State had a big red-zone stop in the fourth quarter at MSU thanks to a strip-sack by Zion Tracy and a fumble recovery by Daryus Dixson. It was the Lions’ 12th takeaway this season.

—Penn State leads Michigan State all-time with a 20-18-1 record, and PSU is 19-10 in Land Grant Trophy games.

—The last time Penn State met Nebraska was in 2020 where Penn State lost 30-23 in Lincoln. Penn State had 501 yards of offense in that game. 

—Nebraska is on a bye week to prepare for this game.

—Two former Penn State players will be the head coaches in this game. PSU coach Terry Smith graduated in 1991, and Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule graduated in 1997. 

—Other Big Ten scores from the weekend: Oregon 42, Minnesota 13; Ohio State 48, UCLA 10; Indiana 31, Wisconsin 7; USC 26, IOWA 21 (late USC rally at home); Michigan 24, Northwestern 22 (last second field goal); Illinois 24, Maryland 6; Washington 49, Purdue 13.
