Light Up Night 2025

Kick off the holiday season in style at Light Up Night, a magical evening packed with festive fun for the whole family. Winter Carnival and free hot drinks from 5 to 8 p.m. in Downtown State College.

DIRTy Date Night with the Arboretum

Get dirty and flirty at this hands-on workshop when you and a date will create earth-based pigments using soil, clay, and other natural materials with the Arboretum and get a tour of the Palmer Museum of Art’s new exhibition. The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mid State Literacy Council Book Fair

For a limited time, a percentage of every Barnes & Noble purchase in-store and online benefits Mid-State Literacy Council’s adult education programs. Enjoy local author events and activities at Barnes & Noble in State College Nov. 21-23. Purchase a book for MSLC students or the holiday children’s book drive at B&N. Mid-State Literacy Council is a community-funded nonprofit organization based in State College serving Centre and Clearfield counties. 

Spaghetti Dinner

Join Bridge of Hope Centre County for a spaghetti dinner from 4–7 p.m. at Zion Community Church, 3261 Zion Rd, Bellefonte. Spaghetti, salad, and dessert with dine-in or take-out options. Dinner is by donation — suggested $10/person. Hear inspiring stories from program graduates at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Help Deck the Halls of Bellefonte

Downtown Bellefonte Decorating: Historic Bellefonte, Inc. needs help to deck the halls of downtown Bellefonte for Christmas. Community volunteers will gather in Talleyrand Park near the Train Station at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Everyone is welcome. 

Holiday Sales & Raffle

The Catholic Daughters, Ct. Rev. Patrick McArdle, Bellefonte,  will have their annual Holiday Yard Sale, Advent Sale, Bake Sale & Raffle on Sat., Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. until after 5 p.m. Mass, and again on Sunday, Nov. 23 after both Sunday Masses. The event will be held in the St. John’s Catholic School auditorium, 116 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte.

Young Artist Concert

Pianist Anh Nguyen will present a Young Artist concert at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County in State College at 3 p.m. Donations will benefit The Music Academy in State College. Nguyen has appeared as soloist with the Williamsport Symphony and the Nittany Valley Symphony as the winner of their Young Artist Competitions. She has also won prizes and awards in other piano competitions.  Anh attends St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Boalsburg and studies piano with Dr. Amy Gustafson.  

Goot Essa Holiday Open House

Free Tours, tastings, demonstrations and refreshments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Goot Essa, 351 Wise Rd., Howard.

South Hills Winter Reflections Craft Show

Many vendors will have gifts, home decor, jewelry, ornaments, and much more for sale. Take pictures with Santa too! Homemade food will be for sale throughout the day as well. Free admission and free parking from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Hills State College Campus, 480 Waupelani Dr., State College.

Heartland Christmas 2025

Celebrate the holidays with good cheer and good wine from the wineries of the Susquehanna Heartland Wine Trail. This event is from noon to 4 p.m. Each winery will have its own unique stocking stuffer to help celebrate the holiday. At the first winery, you will receive a stocking, a stocking stuffer, and a free tasting. At each subsequent winery, you will receive a stocking stuffer and a complimentary tasting. Join the 15 wineries of the trail during weekdays and weekends. 

Old Fashioned Skills: Beeswax

Discover how beeswax is made and how it was used throughout history at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Rd., Philipsburg, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Make a dog paw balm (which you could use, if you don’t have a dog).  This program is recommended for ages 8 and older.  Limited to 12 people. Pre-registration is required.

Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series

Whistle Tones Flute Quartet will present “Playful Pursuits from the Family of Flutes” at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte. The concert is free.

Mallard and Wood Duck Basics

Discover interesting facts about mallard and wood ducks, then make a call out of a straw. This program is held from 1 to 2 p.m. and is geared towards children.  Meet at the Environmental Learning Center at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Rd., Philipsburg.

Clara’s Nutcracker Tea Party

Join Clara at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Blvd., Port Matilda, for a magical story time come to life! A fun-filled afternoon of sweets, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with performances by the Sugar Plum Fairy and other Nutcracker characters! Children and grown ups will delight in beautiful performances, delicious treats, a fun Holiday craft, and a dance class with the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends! A Thanksgiving Eve Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church located at 102 Trinity Court, Bellefonte.

Nov. 27

Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Bellefonte Knights of Columbus will be hosting a free Thanksgiving Dinner to the public on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our hall, 315 Stoney Batter, Bellefonte, (up the hill from Dollar General). The menu will include roasted turkey, glazed ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pie. Eat-in and take-out available. Take-Outs are limited to six per patron.Those taking out three or more meals are asked to bring a box to carry their meals. We will be collecting Toys for Tots at Thanksgiving this year.
