Free Child Developmental Screenings
Evaluations are administered by certified therapists from local early intervention agencies for children ages newborn to 5 years. It will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Children’s Activity Room at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College.
No registration necessary, but children will be evaluated on a first come, first served basis.
Skills will be evaluated in five major areas: motor (crawling, rolling, walking, hand-eye coordination), social (attention span, interactions, play), cognitive (thinking, reasoning), language (speech, understanding, pronunciation of words), adaptive (eating, dressing, toileting).
Spaghetti Supper
A Spaghetti Supper is being offered by the Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church, 112 Trinity Court, Bellefonte on Friday, Nov. 7 from 4 to 6 .m.. The church is located at 112 Trinity Court. The cost is $12 and includes spaghetti with meatballs, salad, bread, desserts and drinks. Eat in or take out is available.
Bridge of Hope Centre County Fundraiser
A soup and salad dinner will be held at Calvary Harvest Fields, 150 Harvest Field Dr., Boalsburg from 4 to 7 p.m. to support Bridge of Hope Centre County, a nonprofit that works to end homelessness for single-parent-led families in Centre County. Dinner is by donation. There will be a short testimony from a recent program graduate at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Dine in or take out available.

Holiday Crafts and Bake Sale
The Ferguson Township Lions Club is hosting a holiday craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Lion’s Club Building, 424 West Pine Grove Rd., in Pine Grove Mills. Soup and sandwiches will be available.
Friends of the Holt Memorial Library Book Sale
Browse books for sale downstairs in the book room from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holt Memorial Library, 17 N. Front St., Philipsburg. Buy books and support the library! A new selection of books is available for every sale. Children’s books are just $2 a bag.

Veterans Day Service at Union Cemetery
A Veterans Day service will be held at 3 p.m. at Union Cemetery in Bellefonte by the fountain.
Operation Christmas Child Packing Party
A packing party will be held at Greater Buffalo Run Valley UMC social room, 112 Trinity Court, Bellefonte, following worship (approximately 11:15 a.m.) to start filling Operation Christmas Child boxes, which are provided. A video highlighting the journey of each box as it moves from the point of packing to its recipient while we enjoy pizza will be viewed. Basketball Open House at The Nittany Valley Sports Centre
An afternoon of basketball fun at Nittany Valley Sports Centre, 177 Champion Drive, State College for boys and girls of all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be 3v3 games, friendly competitions, and open play led by the Centre’s basketball coaching team. This free event is a great chance to meet our coaches, check out the facility, and learn more about upcoming winter basketball programs. Free Concert for State College Area Food Bank
A free one-hour concert will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Garner St., State College at 3 p.m. to benefit the State College Area Food Bank. Musicians include Celestial Sounds choral ensemble, Nittany Brass Quintet, The Fair Winds V, and solo piano. Shelf-stable food and donations to support the food bank are encouraged. Centre Pieces Quilt Guild to meet
Centre Pieces Quilt Guild will hold its monthly evening meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on at Blue Course Community Church in State College. Arlan and Pat Christ will present their museum collection of antique quilts. Veterans Day Event at Juniper Village at Brookline
Juniper Village at Brookline will honor its veterans during our Annual Veterans Day Celebration. This special event recognizes the service and sacrifice of our residents and associates who have served in the Armed Forces. The celebration will feature a keynote address by U.S. Navy veteran Dr. Mark Stephens, alone with live musical performances to mark the occasion. No RSVP is required. Nittany Valley Writers Network to meet
Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet at 6 p.m. in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. At 6:30, Joel Burcat will speak on “Your Chapter Two, Lessons Learned on Reinventing Yourself as a Writer: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Uncertainty (Balancing your Career, Shifting Genres, and Becoming a Full-Time Writer).” He will also hold a book signing.
