Community Soup Sale
Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard, will sponsor a community soup sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eat in or take out. Available soups are beef, ham and bean, chicken corn, and chicken noodle. Contact Patti Long at 814-625-2182 for preorders and questions. Soup comes in freezeable containers. Cost is $10 for lunch which includes soup, salad, roll, pie and beverage. Quarts are $9. Proceeds benefit local missions in the area.

JAM Session at St. Mark
Jana Mare Foundation is bringing back another JAM (Jana’s Art and Music) Session for all kids in grades 2 through 5 on Friday, Oct.17 at St. Mark Lutheran Church Snydertown, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard. Murder & Mocktails
Bellefonte Library Friends has partnered with Sock & Buskin Theater Co. for an interactive murder mystery while enjoying mocktails at Centre County Library on Friday, Oct. 17. This in-person event is perfect for mystery enthusiasts and cocktail lovers alike. Mocktails and appetizers are provided. The interactive murder mystery takes place at a Halloween Party. Feel free to dress in costume.Doors open at 6pm for Mocktails and Apps. Performance begins at 6:30 pm. and ends approximately two hours later. The cost is $33.85/person with limited tickets available on Eventbrite. Proceeds benefit Friends of Bellefonte Library.

Graystone Craft and Vendor Fair
The Graystone in Bellefonte is hosting a Craft and Vendor Fair beginning at 9 a.m.The event features local crafters, vendors and artists. There will be available concessions, a basket raffle and much more!
Pennsylvania Native Plant Society Annual Meeting
The annual meeting will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center, 3400 Discovery Rd., Petersburg. There will be an optional bird walk, forest therapy walk, and plant ID walk, as well as two exciting speakers, and a native plant sale just in time for fall planting! Free and open to the public. Nittany Greyhounds Meet & Greet
Nittany Greyhounds will hold a Meet & Greet event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus, 277 Northland Center, State College. The public can come to meet retired racing greyhounds and learn about greyhounds as pets. Lovingly known as 45 mph couch potatoes, retired racers adapt well to living in homes. Out Run Hunger 5K
Starting at Big Spring Spirits, 198 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte, this family friendly 5K walk/run supports the Faith Centre Food Bank and Pet Food Pantry of Centre County on Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. People, PAWS & PSU will host a community health clinic for dogs, cats, and their humans from 1 to 4 p.m. at Howard United Methodist Church, 144 Main St, Howard. Low-cost pet vaccines and microchips, state resources & giveaways, free flu vaccines for people, information about ticks and tick-borne diseases, and giveaways.

Biking Over 50
Free class to learn the basic skills to prepare you to get back on your bike and riding! This introductory class covers basic rules of the road, best practices to be safe and comfortable on roads and trails, potential barriers to riding for people over 50, and a discussion of strategies to overcome these barriers.
