Knitters Guild
The Centre County Knitters Guild meets on the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Patton Township Municipal Building. The first half-hour will include a meet and greet. More information can be found online at centreknittersguild.com.
Blessing of Pets and Animals
St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will hold a Blessing of Pets and Animals at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2. The service will be held under the church pavilion, and also will include remembering pets we have lost. The church also will be taking donations that will go to Centre County PAWS. All are invited to bring their pets or a photo of their pets to the service to receive a blessing. Please have all dogs on leashes. Fall Mansion Garden Sale
The Centre Furnace Mansion Gardeners Fall Thursday Plant Sales are back with half-price plants. Perennials, herbs, and shrubs will be for sale while there is time before winter to acclimate them to their new home. It is held at 1001 E. College Ave. in State College from 1 to 5 p.m.

First Friday
A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants. First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music, retail and restaurant specials, and more. And there’s free parking in the Pugh, Fraser and Beaver garages with validations from participating merchants.

Chicken BBQ
A Chicken BBQ will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Baileyville Community Hall, 210 Deibler Rd., in Pa. Furnace while supplies last. Dinner includes 1/2 grilled chicken, baked beans, roll, home-made applesauce and dessert. Eat in or take out. Dinners are $12 and chicken only dinners are $7. Homemade apple dumplings are $6 each. CPI 2025 Annual Car Show
Cars, trucks, motorcycles and semi-trucks will be on hand at the CPI 2025 Annual Car Show located at 540 N. Harrison Rd., Pleasant Gap. Divine Creations food truck will be there. Registration is $20 from 9 to 11 a.m. Awards will be announced at 1 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 5.

Music fundraiser at Talleyrand Park
Ramalama will be performing on the west side of Talleyrand Park, Bellefonte from 3 to 4 p.m. This free concert is in support of the fundraising for the stage at Talleyrand project. Stop in and enjoy 50’s and 60’s acapella DooWop. Sound provided by George Powell Sound.
Apple Fest

Happy Valley Town Series: All-ages Run & Bike Races
This final race in a weeknight series of races on Oct. 8 begins at 5:30 p.m. at Tussey Mountain. It features short-course trail running and biking races for all ages, a vibrant tent expo with local vendors, live music and food. This is designed for juniors to seasoned athletes.
