Allen St., State College on Friday, Sept. 12 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. She will discuss enrolling in coverage, how to shop smart during open enrollment, and proposed 2026 premium costs.
Downtown State College Farmers Market
Farmers and residents of Centre County can mutually benefit from a market of locally produced items on Friday on Locust Lane in downtown State College from 11:30 a.m. to 5:3 p.m. All vendors are required to personally produce all of the items they sell.
Free Book Fair and Costless Closet
St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will host its annual Free Book Fair and Costless Closet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. The church is accepting clothes, books, and media donations for the event that are in good condition between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 13. No encyclopedias. Books and media can be taken down into the church’s Fellowship Room, while clothing can be dropped off in the middle level.

Another World Music Festival 2025
Another World Music Festival 2025 will be held at Winkelblech Fields, 1104 Pine Creek Rd., Woodward starting Friday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. and ending on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. The event showcases, brings awareness and grows the love for local and regional musical talent.
Lemont Village Green Summer Concert
Granma Ben – Doug Irwin will be featured at a concert scheduled at Lemont Village Green, 133 Mount Nittany Rd., Lemont from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Bellefonte Farmers Market
Locally produced and raised items will include frozen meats, live plants, dried florals and fresh eggs will be available at the Bellefonte Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at Centre Peace, 3047 Benner Pike, Bellefonte.
North Atherton Farmers Market
This farmers market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Home Depot parking lot, 2615 Tech Dr., State College. All vendors are required to sell only what they produce, grow or make. There will also be local bakeries, specialty food vendors and more.

Aboretum Explorers Family Hike
Participants will explore our lesser-known spaces including Hartley Wood and Aboretum prairie lands. The group meets at the Overlook Pavilion at H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens in the Aboretum at Penn State, East Park Avenue and Bigler Road in University Park, and proceeds to the Aboretum’s natural areas. Wear suitable shoes for rustic trails and dress for the weather. Program is held rain or shine.
Community Festival
Park Forest Baptist Church, 3030 Carnegie Dr., State College, will host a Community Festival from 3 to 6 p.m. in honor of PFBC’s 43rd birthday. Inflatable, petting zoo, axe throwing, food trucks and more will be featured.

PSU professor to speak about climate change
Dr. Brian King, professor and head of Geography at Penn State will examine how climate change is reshaping human health, from heat exposure and food insecurity to extreme weather events, with attention to uneven impacts and community resilience. This presentation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Foxdale Village auditorium. The event is free.
