All of our local high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are ready to begin play, and here is a look at each team and when and where they’ll be in action:

The Bald Eagles finished on a down note last year, but there were only three graduates and 10 returning players on the roster.

The Lady Eagles had wins over P-O and Bellefonte last season, and the team will have seven returning players from last year plus an infusion of seven more freshmen.

The Raiders had solid wins over P-O, BEA, Bedford and Bellwood-Antis, but a difficult late schedule took its toll.

The Lady Raiders will try to rebound from a difficult season, but there is a tough early schedule.

Head Coach: Rob Irwin
After a 12-12 season and a playoff appearance in 2024-25, the Rams will return almost everyone from that roster in 25-26. The team also begins with five straight home games.

Girls Basketball

2024-25 Record: 14-9, 11-7
The Lady Rams had a 14-9 season in 2024-25 that included a 2-point loss to Richland in the D6 Quarterfinals. The Rams will return almost everyone from that team including high scorers Ellie Romig, Elle Dinges, and Paige Johnson.

The Mounties will be looking to rebuild after a tough year with just 2 conference wins.

The Lady Mounties will return six lettermen from 24-25, but they will have to replace all three of their high scorers for the new season.

the WolfPack made it to the D6, 1A Finals last season and will return all three of their high scorers, including Jayden Stamm who averaged 21 ppg.

2024-25 Record: 26-3, 14-0 Tri Valley Champs
The WolfPack had one of the best teams in the state in 24-25 and advanced to the PIAA quarterfinals where they lost to the eventual champions, Bishop Guilfoyle. Virtually everyone is back from that team, including First Team All State Naomi Crispin.

The Little Lions will be reloading this season after losing their three top scorers from last season, Reed Melvin, Charlie Yartz and Ty Salazer.

2024-25 Record: 18-5, 11-4 (2nd Mid-Penn)
The Little Lions had a solid season in 24-25 but fell to arch-rival Altoona in the D6, 6A Championship. Altoona will visit the Lions to open the Mid-Penn Schedule this season.
