MARTINSBURG — Bellefonte traveled to Central on Thursday, Oct. 9 to take on the Dragons. Bellefonte took care of business to sweep Central in three sets, 26-24, 25-18 and 25-21.

Bellefonte had a couple of key contributors in this match but maybe none bigger than Colbie Frailey, who finished with a team high of 17 kills with two aces. Bellefonte then got solid play out of Sloan Moore with nine digs and two aces.

Braelyn Mingle finished with three digs and great behind the service line where she would finish with six aces.

Bellefonte was great serving in this game with 13 aces, the most in a game since their Sept. 16 match against Tyrone where the Raiders finished with 15 aces in that match.

Bellefonte had very solid hitting numbers throughout this whole match. In the first set Bellefonte finished with 15 kills to only six errors with 36 total attempts, resulting in a 0.250 hitting percentage (PCT). Bellefonte fell short of those numbers in the second set where the Raiders finished with eight kills with four errors in 23 total attempts, which gave them a 0.174 PCT. In the third set, Bellefonte got those numbers back up when they finished strong with 13 kills with six errors in 28 total attempts where they finished with 0.250 PCT again.

This victory got Bellefonte back to a .500-win percentage with a record of 12-12-2 on the year. This win ended the Raiders’ two-game losing streak where they were swept in both of those matches. Bellefonte helped extend the Dragons losing streak to seven games, making Central’s record on the year 8-19.
