STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

State police are investigating a case of harassment that took place between Aug. 30, 2022, and Jan. 10, 2023, along South Eagle Valley Road in Boggs Township. No other details were reported.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 99 in Worth Township at 11:14 a.m. on Feb. 6. According to police, a 2016 Honda Civic being driven by Max Aleman, 27, of State College, struck a concrete barrier after the driver lost control due to a strong gust of wind. No injuries were reported. The Civic had to be towed from the scene.

A two-vehicle accident called state police to the scene on Feb. 9. Police say that a 2014 Dodge Avenger being driven by Lyn Aschan, 61, of Ginter, collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Kathleen Smeal, 66, of Hawk Run. The accident took place along South Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. Police were assisted at the scene by EMS. Aschan suffered a minor injury in the 9:24 p.m. crash.

A case of theft was investigated by state police on Feb.

11. According to police, someone stole $3,000 from the bank account of a 67-year-old Port Matilda man. The man resides along Lutz Lane in Halfmoon Township. The investigation is ongoing.

State police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along South Eagle Valley Road in Union Township on Feb. 15. According to police, a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by William Bruss, 36, of Julian, failed to slow down for a stopped motorcycle attempting to make a turn. The motorcycle, a 2007 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, was driven by Michael Bruss, 30, of Fleming. Upon impact, Bruss was thrown from the Fat Boy. He suffered injuries to his legs and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Bellefonte EMS. Bruss was not hurt in the crash. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the 6:15 p.m. crash.

A case of drug possession was investigated by state police on Feb. 6. According to police, a traffic stop took place along Interstate 80 in Marion Township. The driver of a 2017 Lincoln Continental was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The stop took place at 4:32 p.m.

A case of theft was investigated by state police on Feb. 10. According to police, someone stole around $1,700 from the bank account of an 81-year-old Philipsburg woman. The woman resides along the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. The investigation is ongoing.

STATE POLICE AT LAMAR

State police are still on the lookout for a Lemont man who has been charged in an early February robbery at a Clearfield County convenience store. According to state police, Craig Steven Hauke-Miller, 35, has eluded law enforcement authorities since he was last seen on foot after crashing his vehicle on Overdorf Lane in Greene Township on Feb. 15. According to information from Clearfield County, police there on Wednesday filed robbery charges against Hauke-Miller. The charges stem from a Feb. 6 dawn-time robbery at the Fuel On convenience store in Chester Hill. The robber there made off with nearly $7,000 in cash. On Feb. 16, Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse confirmed that Hauke-Miller is the object of the Clinton County search. A report out of Clearfield County alleges that the accused on Feb. 6 pulled out what appeared to be pepper spray or mace and pointed it at the clerk, then pushed her out of the way, went to the cash drawer and left with the cash. Authorities said he had been buying lottery tickets at the store prior to the robbery and cashing them in.

A Philipsburg man was taken into custody following a crash along Interstate 80 eastbound in Porter Township, Clinton County, on Feb. 9. According to police, Hunter Asbell, 25, of Philipsburg stole a car from the Glendale HOA in Flinton and crashed. Asbell was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and numerous traffic violations in the 2:30 p.m. incident.

A case of harassment was investigated by state police on Feb. 12. According to police, a dispute during a child custody exchange took place at an Interstate 80 rest area. The incident involved a 29-year-old man from Hughesville and a 29-year-old woman from Pleasant Gap. Charges against the man were filed through District Court 25-3-02 in the 9 a.m. incident.

State police investigated a case of assault that took place at the Valley Hotel, 246 Main St. in Mill Hall Borough, Clinton County. According to state police, Kenneth Oliver, 58, of Mill Hall, allegedly assaulted Preston Bierly, 40, of Bellefonte, at the hotel. Oliver then left the scene. He was stopped a short time later during a traffic stop and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along state Route 144 in Beech Creek Township, Clinton County, on Feb. 16. According to police, a 16-year-old male from Snow Shoe was driving along Halls Run Road in a 2000 GM Sierra when he lost control of the vehicle. It struck a road sign and then a tree before coming to rest in a ditch. The driver was transported to the Bucktail Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. A 16-year-old passenger, also from Snow Shoe, was also taken to BMC. However, a 15-year-old passenger, also from Snow Shoe, suffered serious injuries and was taken to UPMC-Williamsport for treatment. State police were assisted at the scene by the Beech Creek Volunteer Fire Company, Goodwill Hose Company and Martin Motors in the 10:41 p.m. crash.
