The winter storm that brought about a foot of snow to much of Centre County on Sunday is continuing to cause disruptions.
State College, Bald Eagle, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola school districts will be operating on two-hour delays on Tuesday, each district announced late Monday afternoon. Keystone Central School District, which includes a portion of northeastern Centre County, will have a flexible learning day.
State College Area School District noted in its announcement that the delay is planned “to allow additional time for winter storm cleanup and because of the potential for snow drifting overnight.” Penns Valley cited “anticipated road conditions.”
All Centre County schools were closed on Monday and Penn State canceled classes after the storm that began early Sunday morning and continued into the night, leaving the largest accumulations of snow in the area in more than five years.
A cold weather advisory is also in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, air temperatures dropping to near 0 degrees and wind chills as low as -15 degrees expected.
