Penn State’s THON revealed its 2022 “Spark Endless Light” logo Wednesday afternoon to take one step closer to the student-run pediatric cancer charity’s annual 46-hour dance marathon.

This year’s logo features two children watching an exploding firework. According to the organization, the design hopes to provide a spark and align with THON’s “endless” fight against pediatric cancer.

“When a firework explodes, the entire world around it is lit up. When the THON Community is able to spark a moment of light, everyone that we impact is engulfed in this moment of brightness,” a description from the organization reads. ”THON 2022 is a celebration of perseverance through hardship, a firework exploding in the night sky.”

The logo was designed by graphic design student Caitlyn McHenry. It will be featured on all of THON 2022’s branding and merchandise.

THON’s logo reveal follows its annual 100 Days ‘Til THON celebration. The organization also recently raised north of $1 million to kickstart its 2022 fundraising campaign.

THON 2022 will return to the Bryce Jordan Center from Feb. 18 to 20. The organization will require dancers and all other Penn State students and staff involved to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to access the Jordan Center’s event level or mezzanine.
