The Christmas season is well underway, with Christmas displays filling the State College storefronts and the Christmas tree standing at the Allen Street gates. As the holiday approaches, community organizations around State College are offering more and more in the way of local events to help get you and your family in the holiday spirit.
First, Wednesday, November 29th, Penn State<92>s Greek organizations and the Off-Campus Student Union host the 2007 Holiday Lights Tour. A trolley will be picking up participants at the Beta Theta Pi house and leaving from there on a guided tour highlighting several fraternities around State College that have worked putting up decorations for this holiday season. Refreshments will be offered at several of the fraternities throughout the evening. The Greek community has put a great deal of effort into making their houses as beautiful as possible and looks forward to welcoming State College residents into their homes!
The trolley will be leaving from Beta Theta Pi located at 220 N. Burrowes Street at 7 P.M., stopping at various houses, and returning the Beta Theta Pi at 10 P.M. The event is totally free, and families are welcomed to attend.
A few weeks later on Christmas Eve, the Alpha Fire Company will be conducting their annual Santa Run. The fire engine will be leaving the main station at 400 W. Beaver at 4:30 P.M. and from there making their way around State College neighborhoods. Santa will of course be riding along to visit kids all over State College.
To view a schedule of where and when Santa will visit, view the official Santa route here. Keep in mind that scheduled times are only approximate and delays are possible due to emergencies. If you have any questions, you can contact the fire station at 814-237-5359.
Here<92>s hoping everyone has a wonderful Christmas season and enjoys everything State College has to offer!
