Penn State tight end Tyler Warren received one of the nation’s most prestigious awards on Thursday night. Warren has become the first Nittany Lion to ever win the Mackey Award for the top tight end in college football.
Defining himself as one of the most versatile players nationally this season, Warren currently leads the team with 1,253 total yards while adding 10 touchdowns, has He has caught, rushed, thrown, snapped and punted the football in 2024.
Warren, who was also named this year’s Kwalick-Clark Big Ten Tight End of the Year, earned second-team honors on the Walter Camp All-America team, also announced Thursday night.
Defensive end Abdul Carter placed on the Walter Camp All-America first team. He was a finalist for the Bednarik Award for the nation’s top defensive player, which went to Colorado’s Travis Hunter.
Nick Dawkins is the third Nittany Lion who received a national honor on Thursday. He won the Wuerfful Trophy, college football’s premier award for community service.
