Offensive tackle Cooper Cousins officially became the first member of Penn State football’s 2024 recruiting Saturday evening.
“It’s a great day to be a Nittany Lion,” Cousins said in a Twitter post. “I am excited to be a leader of the class of 2024, as I will continue to wear blue and white for PENN STATE FOOTBALL!!”
Cousins, from McDowell High School in Erie, chose the Nittany Lions over other offers from Pitt, Toledo, and Kentucky.
A four-star prospect, according to On3, Cousins comes in at 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds and currently plays on the offensive and defensive lines for McDowell. Cousins’ commitment to Penn State comes one day after Class of 2023 offensive lineman prospect Anthony Donkoh committed to the Nittany Lions as well.
The addition of Cousins only further improves Penn State’s offensive line recruiting as it has already received verbal commitments from Class of 2023 three-star interior lineman Joshua Miller and four-star interior lineman Alex Birchmeier.
