Penn State men’s basketball added to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon following the verbal commitment of small forward Hudson Ward. The 6-foot-7 Alberta, Canada product is the fourth member of the Nittany Lions’ 2024 recruiting cycle. Ward will join Jahvin Carter, Dominick Stewart, and Miles Goodman as part of head coach Mike Rhoades’ first full recruiting class in Happy Valley.
According to the On3 network, Ward is ranked as the No. 49 small forward prospect in Canada and the No. 1 prospect at the same position in Alberta. He currently attends Western Canada Prep Academy in Edmonton.
Prior to verbally committing to Penn State, Ward had courted offers and interest from programs such as San Diego, Rice, Long Beach State, and more, per On3. Ward is a member of the U-17 Canadian national basketball team in the 2022 FIBA World Cup.
Mike Rhoades’ first full recruiting class at Penn State is currently rated the No. 67th best in the nation according to On3 although the 247 Network rates the class slightly higher at No. 40 nationally.
