Penn State football picked up the verbal commitment of four-star defensive end Mylachi Williams on Saturday evening adding even more talent to an already loaded 2024 recruiting class.
Williams, from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, chose Penn State over Syracuse and Pittsburgh and marked the 22nd verbal commitment to a class that ranked No. 11 overall nationally according to the 247 Network and fourth-best in the Big Ten behind Ohio State, Michigan and USC. The Trojans do not officially join the Big Ten until the 2024 season.
Williams hits the scales at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds and is the 350th best prospect in the class according to the 247 Network and the seventh-best prospect out of the state of Pennsylvania hailing from the Philadelphia region. The 247 Network lists Williams as the No. 25 best edge rusher in the class. He is just the second listed edge rusher in Penn State’s 2024 haul, coming in alongside three-star prospect Xavier Gilliam.
