Penn State added to its 2024 class with the third verbal commitment of the cycle as linebacker Kari Jackson made the call on Tuesday morning. The West Bloomfield, Michigan native is a three-star prospect on the 247 Network and a four-star prospect within the 247 Network’s Composite rankings.

Jackson hits the scales at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds and is rated the 36th-best linebacker in the class and the 14th-best prospect in the state of Michigan. Over the course of his recruiting process Jackson chose Penn State over the likes of Dartmouth, Duke, Georgia Tech and Kansas.

Still in its infancy, Penn State’s 2024 class is just three players deep with fellow linebacker Anthony Speca and interior offensive lineman Cooper Cousins joining Jackson in the class. All three players are rated four-star prospects by the 247 Network’s Composite rankings while Cousins comes in as the nation’s No. 143 prospect, the highest of the three players.

All three verbal commitments have come in the past month with Speca starting off the class in mid January. Penn State’s 2023 class was rated the 14th-best in the nation while the 2022 class came in at No. 8 in the nation. The three-player 2024 cycle is ranked No. 30 nationally very very early in the recruiting calendar.
