Penn State Homecoming 2024 will culminate with the Nittany Lion football team’s game Sept. 28 game against Illinois at Beaver Stadium.
The annual weeklong celebration of Penn State tradition and pride is scheduled for Sept. 22-28, the student Homecoming Executive Committee announced on Thursday.
The Homecoming organization unveiled the 2024 theme of “In Every Roar, Tradition Soars,” last weekend during THON.
“This year we wanted to highlight the efforts and impacts made on our community through every Penn Staters unique journey,” the Homecoming Executive Committee wrote in a statement. “Deeply rooted in all that we are and all that we do lies one thing… Penn State tradition. Traditions big and small, new and old can always be seen within our community. These echoes of tradition are instilled through the diverse experiences, profound impacts, and lasting legacies of every individual, who collectively, create a roar that echoes the essence of our shared Penn State journeys. In every roar, your experiences, your impacts, your legacies; tradition soars.”
Kickoff time for the Homecoming game, which will be Penn State football’s Big Ten opener, has not yet been announced.
Details on other Homecoming festivities will be revealed at a later date. The parade and Guard the Lion Shrine event traditionally take place on Friday of Homecoming week. The week also typically includes a series of other activities for students and alumni, such as the Allen Street Jam, the Best of Penn State carnival and an ice cream social at Hintz Family Alumni Center.
The logo for Homecoming 2024 is expected to be presented at the Blue-White Game on April 13.
