A pair of Penn State players are up for one of the nation’s most prestigious honors. Tight end Tyler Warren and defensive end Abdul Carter were each named semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, a short list which was released on Wednesday.

Warren and Carter were two of 20 players included. The Nittany Lions join Colorado and Ole Miss as one of three teams with multiple players on the list.

Warren is also a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award for the nation’s most versatile player and a semifinalist for the Mackey Award for the top tight end in college football. He currently leads the team with 681 receiving yards and is tied for the lead with seven total touchdowns.

Carter is a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy, and leads the Big Ten with 15.5 tackles for loss and ranks second in the conference with eight sacks.
