Penn State’s White Out against Washington on Saturday has the potential to be a spectacle like never before for select viewers. It will mark the first live college football game ever shown in IMAX, which partnered with NBC Sports to deliver the game at select movie theaters across the country.

The game will also be broadcast at 8 p.m. EDT on Peacock, making it the Nittany Lions’ first exclusively streamed game this season.

A total of 23 IMAX theaters will air the contest, with six being in Pennsylvania: Bensalem, Center Valley, King of Prussia, Pittsburgh, Reading and York.

The White Out becomes the latest sporting event set to be shown in IMAX, which streamed the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony this past summer.

The Nittany Lions, coming off a 20-13 loss to Ohio State, will look to make a statement against the Huskies, the reigning national runners-up.

Despite the defeat, Penn State set an attendance record with 111,030 fans present for the game against the Buckeyes. Given the excitement that typically surrounds the White Out, the stadium is likely to fill in again and make for quite the scene in IMAX.
