Penn State Receives 7th Major Contribution Toward Beaver Stadium’s $700 Million Renovation

Penn State has received its seventh major contribution toward the $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium. An anonymous donor has gifted the athletic department with $1 million, the university announced in a statement on Monday. 

That puts the renovation’s publicly announced fundraising total over $66 million, with a leading gift of $25 million from the Misitano family and PAM Health. 

“We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous donor family whose $1 million gift will have a lasting impact on the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project,” athletic director Dr. Patrick Kraft said. “This gift and the others we have received to date are a powerful testament to the broad support for our community and the exciting future ahead for our stadium.”

Penn State has also received $10 million gifts for the project from two anonymous donors and former trustee Ira Lubert, as well as $5 million each from Playfly Sports and Frank and Jennifer Marzano.

The stadium’s renovation is expected to be completed in August 2027 and will not be paid for using tuition dollars or educational budget funds. While initial work began this summer, substantial construction is expected to begin in January.
