In addition to the five-star quarterback’s role as the Penn State’s backup gunslinger, Drew Allar is now a published author.

Allar and co-author Andy Vodopia announced last week announced the release of “The Men In Back,” a 34-page illustrated children’s book. Through the interactive story, readers will learn about Allar’s journey to Happy Valley, while also receiving a look into his personality and interests off the gridiron.

The book is sold exclusively through Exit 56 Publications, an NIL-specific production avenue for college athletes seeking to share their stories through print. Allar’s “The Men In Back” stands as Exit 56’s second published story. In August, the company helped develop “The Men Up Front”, which focuses on three members of Michigan’s offensive line.

Allar’s hardcover story retails at $20 per copy and can be purchased through Exit 56’s website. In less than a week, the book’s $50 edition, which includes an authenticated autograph from Allar, has already sold out.

While Allar is primed to receive around 50% of the book’s sales, the quarterback isn’t planning on pocketing the profits. Instead, he will donate his portion of the proceeds to the Medina (Ohio) Youth Gridiron Football program — an organization in Allar’s hometown that helped jumpstart his own playing career.

Specifically, Allar hopes his contributions will benefit students who are unable to afford the program’s expenses.

“I am excited to give back to the community that has always supported my teammates and me,” Allar said. “Medina Youth Gridiron Football is where I learned football fundamentals, the value of being a good teammate, and the life skills I use today.”
