Just one day after Penn State took down Michigan State 28-10 to snap a six-game losing skid, the Nittany Lions returned to the loss column on the recruiting trail.

Four-star class of 2026 offensive tackle Kevin Brown, the highest-rated remaining member of Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class, officially decommitted on Sunday afternoon. Brown ranks as the No. 2 recruit in Pennsylvania, No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 61 overall player in the cycle, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

The Nittany Lions’ class is down to just 12 members and ranks No. 59 nationally, continuing its freefall following James Franklin’s firing. There’s speculation more decommitments could be on the way.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong has already logged a prediction for Brown to land at West Virginia, where he recently took a visit at the end of October. Brown was also seen wearing West Virginia football gloves during a recent high school game. He plans to announce his commitment on The Pat McAfee Show, hosted by the former Mountaineer kicker.

While all signs currently point to West Virginia landing Brown, Ohio State is another school generating buzz as a potential landing spot. Brown took an unofficial visit to the Buckeyes this month.

The move comes on the heels of multiple other commitment flips, with wide receiver Lavar Keys committing to Indiana, defensive lineman Isaac Chukwurah committing to Miami and offensive tackle Jack Fuchs committing to Northwestern in the last few days.
