The Nittany Lions landed a massive recruiting win to close out the month.
Penn State on Thursday afternoon earned a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Stanley Montgomery, who ranks as the No. 7 Pennsylvania prospect, No. 14 defensive lineman and No. 120 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle, per the 247Sports composite.
Montgomery attends Archbishop High School in Philadelphia, where he plays both defensive tackle and offensive tackle. He projects as a defensive lineman at the college level and was primarily recruited by position coach Ikaika Malloe.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Montgomery held interest from several power conference schools. He scheduled visits to Penn State, Kentucky, Northwestern and Virginia and held offers from Texas A&M, Michigan State, Pitt and others.
Following his decision, the Nittany Lions’ 2027 class is up to 13 commitments and jumped up to No. 6 nationally and No. 4 in the Big Ten, per the 247Sports composite. Montgomery is the highest rated recruit in Penn State’s class according to the 247Sports in-house rankings.
