Penn State Lands Commitment From 3-Star Cornerback Zachary Gleason Jr.

The dominoes are beginning to fall in Penn State’s 2027 recruiting class.

The Nittany Lions on Tuesday earned a commitment from three-star cornerback Zachary Gleason Jr., which comes three days after fellow cornerback Semajay Robinson committed, making them the only members in Penn State’s class.

Gleason attends Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, the same program that produced current Nittany Lions Xxavier Thomas and Peter Gonzalez, as well as former Nittany Lion Anthony Speca, who transferred to Purdue this offseason. He’s listed at 6-foot, 170 pounds and ranks as the No. 21 Pennsylvania prospect, No. 75 cornerback and No. 741 overall prospect in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

A 2027 class that once ranked No. 1 nationally lost all four commitments following the firing of head coach James Franklin, and has since dropped down the rankings. After getting a late start on the recruiting front, the new staff has started to gather its first commitments and now ranks No. 67 overall and No. 15 in the Big Ten, with more commitments likely in the coming weeks.
