Western Pennsylvania cornerback Xxavier Thomas announced his verbal commitment to Penn State football’s on Thursday, becoming the seventh player to commit to the Nittany Lions’ 2025 recruiting class.
“After an amazing and memorable recruitment process, I’m excited to announce that I am 100% committed,” Thomas wrote on Twitter.
Thomas hails from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. At Penn State, he’ll join former Central Catholic teammates Anthony Speca and Peter Gonzalez, who officially committed to the Nittany Lions’ 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday as part of the team’s early signing period.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound cornerback, who also plays wide receiver, does not yet have a rating on 247Sports. He was also recruited by Akron, according to the website.
Thomas joins a growing and highly-rated Penn State recruiting class ranked eighth in the nation, according to 247Sports. Linebacker DJ McClary, tight end Brady O’Hara, and running back Kiandrea Barker are the only four-stars in the class so far.
