Penn State football picked up a commitment from three-star defensive lineman De’Andre Cook on Friday, he announced via Instagram livestream. Cook, who selected the Nittany Lions over Rutgers, North Carolina and others, becomes the 21st player to commit to the program’s 2024 recruiting class.

The prospect from Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, D.C. is rated the No. 95 defensive lineman in the country and No. 5 player in D.C. for this recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Cook joins a notable Penn State recruiting group, which is ranked No. 6 in the country by 247Sports. He is the second defensive lineman to commit to the group after edge rusher Xavier Gilliam committed in early June.

Across seven games for Friendship Collegiate Academy in 2022, Cook registered seven total tackles, including six for a loss, according to MaxPreps.
