Penn State men’s basketball has its second transfer departure of the offseason.
Guard Freddie Dilione V will enter the transfer portal following his redshirt junior season, according to a report by On3’s Joe Tipton on Wednesday evening. Dilione appeared in all 32 games in 2025-26 and started 15 of them, averaging a team-best 14 points per contest with 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He spent the last two seasons as a Nittany Lion after beginning his career at Tennessee.
Dilione posted a season-high 25 points on two occasions: a loss to Purdue and win over Minnesota, and reached double digits on 25 occasions, proving himself as one of the team’s most consistent scoring threats.
Dilione joins guard Melih Tunca as players going portaling, meaning Penn State will likely look to bring in a transfer guard or two this offseason. Senior Josh Reed is the only other departure this offseason, though the program adds one class of 2026 freshman in three-star forward Jamison White. Assuming no more departures, the Nittany Lions will have two roster spots to fill.
