Penn State alumna Maggie Vescovich said she and her husband come to the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts every two or three years to remember what it was like before she wore a cap and gown.
It’s all about the atmosphere, she said.
Local businesses swelled as masses of people spilled throughout in celebration of this year’s festival. Allen Street served as the heart of the festival with numerous bands performing, children sprinting through makeshift water fountains and dozens of food vendors dishing out a bite to eat.
A seemingly endless row of artists’ tents spanned from town to campus. On the east side of the borough, streets became more colorful as sidewalk artists equip with plenty of chalk displayed their talents.
From Allen Street to Pollock Road; from Beaver Avenue to Hiester Street; art was everywhere.
