TVs Reported Stolen in State College; Attempted Burglary Noted Downtown

Three LCD-screen televisions, a PlayStation video-game system and a video game were reported stolen Sunday evening from a student home, State College police said Monday.

The value of the items, taken from 120 E. Hamilton Ave., is listed at $1,810, according to a police report. Police said someone gained entry to the residence by breaking through a back door.

It was not immediately clear when the break-in took place.

Among other incidents police outlined Monday:

• Someone broke into the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity house, 425 Locust Lane, by kicking through a particle-board-covered window, according to a police report. Four composite photos and a large paddle board were taken from the interior, police said. The incident was reported at 6:32 p.m. Sunday.

Earlier, the same paddle board had been thrown through a window at the Sigma Alpha Mu house, 329 E. Prospect Ave., police said. That was reported at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, according to a police report.

• An attempted burglary was reported at 5:50 a.m. Sunday at Dragon Chasers Emporium, 115 S. Fraser St., according to a police report. Someone smashed an exterior window there with a hammer, but fled when a nearby person spooked him, police said. He left the area in a tan, Mazda-type vehicle, according to the report.

• A man is likely to face a citation for harassment and public drunkenness after he refused to leave Canyon Pizza, 260 E. Beaver Ave., and punched a staff member there, police said. That happened about 1:20 a.m. Monday, according to a police report.
