Santa Claus is officially in town, and the tree is officially lit, thanks to last night’s Tree Lighting Ceremony on Allen Street.
Even a short power-outage due to a blown fuse didn’t dampen the spirits of the crowds that turned out to bring in the season properly, with holiday songs, singing, dancing, live reindeer, hot chocolate, hot cider, storytime with Mrs. Claus, and, of course, a visit with Santa Claus himself.
Local celebrities Ike the Spike and the Nittany Lion were also in attendance.
The tree can now be seen lit up and towering outside of the Allen Street gates.
If you haven’t had enough of the holiday spirit, be sure to check out the Holiday Lights Tour on November 29, from 7 to 10 p.m.
