The 2017 NFL Draft was never going to be an overly active weekend for Penn State with a 2016-17 roster largely comprised of underclassmen and players not yet eligible to even enter the draft. Simply put there weren’t many players leaving the team in the first place, let alone ones with serious draft-worthy credentials.
That doesn’t mean a few former Nittany Lions won’t find a place to showcase their skills at the next level. Be it a free agent deal or a practice invite, a handful of familiar names ought to have a new home in the coming days.
With that in mind, here is the latest for all of the Penn State players that participated in Pro Day just a few weeks prior to this weekend’s draft.
WR Chris Godwin: Drafted in the third round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
LB Brandon Bell: Will sign with the Cincinnati Bengals per 247 Network
DE Garrett Sickels: Tweet from mother indicates Garrett will headed to the Colts.
S Malik Golden: Headed to San Fransico per his Instagram
DE Evan Schwan: Headed to New York Jets
