Happy Friday, Happy Valley! 

Halloween is on Monday and that means this weekend is filled with some spooky (and not-so-spooky) fun for all ages. We’ve compiled the highlights from the upcoming weekend’s Halloween events in the State College area for you to enjoy.

FRIDAY

Halloween at the Bellefonte YMCA
Come out to the Bellefonte YMCA for an evening of tricks and treats hosted by students from Penn State’s Recreation Parks and Tourism 356 class. The event is free to the community. 

Flashlight Tours and Haunted Miners Maze
Penns Cave hosts the final flashlight tours and haunted miners maze of the season from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bring a flashlight or wear a miner’s helmet and shine a different perspective on cave formations while hearing intriguing Indian and pioneer legends. And explore the dimly lit, 4,800 square-foot maze to locate the hidden checkpoints. Family-friendly eerie fun with gruesome sights. Best times win a prize. [Ticket info]

Murarik Motorsports Annual Haunted House 
For the sixth year Murarik Motorsports, 1410 E. Presqueisle St, Philipsburg, will transform from a car dealership to a haunted house, starting at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Free admission, but donations will benefit the Philipsburg-Osceola Drama Club, Clear-Centre Pool, and Cold Stream Dam. There will be food and drinks, fresh made kettle corn, cotton candy, baked goods, raffles, and games for kids.

 


 

SATURDAY

Halloween Family Night
Join the State College YMCA from 4-7 p.m. for an evening of tricks, treats, and fun with the family. There will be refreshments, food, arts & crafts, prizes, games for all ages, rock climbing, and a haunted house.

Nittany Mall Trick or Treat
Get the costumes on and trick-or-treat in the Nittany Mall from6-9 p.m. Costume contest begins at 6 p.m. at the Center Stage and the Zombie Ball at the Mall will be from 7-9 p.m. in the Dunham’s Sports Court. 

Safe & Seen in the Ballpark
Bring the whole family out for the annual trick-or-treating event with the State College Spikes and Centre Life Link EMS from 4-6 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Parking is free, and admission is free with optional donations to Centre Life Link EMS welcomed. Bring your best costumes and enjoy fun and games with local non-profit organizations. 

 


 

SUNDAY

HalloWine 5k
Mount Nittany Vineyard and Winery and Left Right Repeat host a Halloween-themed fun run that let’s runners enjoy wine samplings along the way and a glass at the end. Prizes will be awarded in costume categories and to the top male and female finishers. Proceeds benefit Centre County PAWS. Open to the first 250 runners, registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m.

All-Sports Museum Trick or Treat
Celebrate Halloween with the Blue and White from 12:40pm-3 p.m. at the Penn State All-Sports Museum. Visitors will be greeted by student-athletes handing out candy as they walk throughout the galleries of the museum. There will be games and prizes in the football recruiting lounge. The event is free and open to the general public, but ‘Friends’ of the Penn State All-Sports Museum will enjoy VIP treatment and early access to Trick or Treat. Early admission for museum friends at 12:30.

Golfin’ with Goblins Par-Tee
Put on your costume, grab some golf clubs, and get ready to have fun! The Penn State Golf Courses and Penn State students host a Halloween-themed junior golf event from 1 to 4 pm. The event is for children aged 5 to 10, and no previous golf experience is required All the equipment will be provided. [Info and registration]

Halloween Costume Parade
A free fall family tradition, Centre Region Parks & Recreation and the State College Lions Club cosponsor the 70th year of the parade through downtown State College. The parade forms on North Burrowes Street off West College Avenue  starting at 6:30 p.m. with step-off promptly at 7 p.m. Costume judging takes place at Memorial Field.

 


 

MONDAY

Haunted House at Hintz
Penn State’s Blue & White Society will host Haunted House- Scare Away Cancer benefiting THON from 6-9 p.m. at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Not only will there be a spooktacular haunted house to go through, there also will be family friendly activities for kids of all ages. Admission is $4.99

Trick-or-Treat Night
Trick-or-Treat Night will be held in the Centre Region from 6-8 p.m.. This designation will apply to the Borough of State College and the Townships of College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton. The official time in Halfmoon Twp. is 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Bellefonte and Benner Township also will be from 6-8 p.m.
