It has been nearly a month since Aaron Stidd and Richard Smith were hit by an alleged drunk driver while crossing a downtown street.  Smith died at Mount Nittany Medical Center shortly after the accident, and Stidd is still currently in a coma at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Stidd is a junior at Penn State and a member of  the Penn State chapter of Delta Upsilon fraternity. Stidd’s family commented early on at the overwhelming support Stidd’s friends and fraternity brothers showed both their son and their family during this difficult time.

Now, in order to help with Aaron’s medical costs, the Delta Upsilon fraternity members are selling wristbands between Tuesday, November 27 and Friday, December 1, during the lunch hour and holding a spaghetti dinner November 29.

On-campus wristband sales depend on the availability of tables, said DU Chapter President Louis Dinardo.  They are asking for a contribution of $3 for a wristband.  “They say ‘STIDD STRONG’ on one side and ‘To end drunk driving’ on the back,” Dinardo explained.

Wristbands can also be picked up at the all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, Dinardo said, being held at the fraternity on Wednesday, November 29.  The event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Delta Upsilon fraternity house, located at 229 Locust Lane.  Everyone is welcome to attend and donate $5 towards Stidd’s medical bills.
