The State College Area High School Homecoming Parade is on Thursday, in accordance with the high school’s homecoming week activities.
Set to start at 6 p.m., the parade will last about one and a half hours. The parade route will be closed to traffic starting at 5:45 p.m., police announced on Monday.
The route is as follows:
The parade forms in the parking lots of the high school, moves east on Westerly Parkway to South Allen Street, north on South Allen Street to Nittany Avenue, west on Nittany Avenue to South Fraser Street.
The following streets also will be closed during the parade:
South Fraser Street from Foster Avenue to Fairmount Avenue and the 100 and 200 blocks of West Nittany Avenue.
When the parade is completed, a pep rally will be held at Memorial Field. The streets adjacent to Memorial Field will be closed to traffic during this time.
Motorists traveling in the area of South Atherton Street and Westerly Parkway may experience delays. Police advise avoiding travel in this area if possible.
