Friday, Jan. 13

Movies

In ‘Contraband,’ a former drug smuggler heads to Panama to score millions of dollars in counterfeit bills, all in an effort to protect his brother-in-law. This movie is playing at the College 9 Theatre and the UEC 12 Theater.

‘The Iron Lady’ offers an intense look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, with a focus on the price she paid for power. This movie is playing at the College 9 Theatre.

The State Theatre is showing ‘The Big Lebowski,’ about a bowler mistaken for a millionaire.

Bars and Clubs

The Autoport will host Bodacious B starting at 8 p.m. Happy hour is set for 5 to 7 p.m.

At Bar Bleu, happy hour will run from 9 to 11 p.m. Lowjack is scheduled to play at 10:30 p.m.

And at the Gingerbread Man, DJ Boner will entertain starting at 10 p.m.

Performing Arts

Comedian Jeff Dunham has an 8 p.m. show scheduled at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Sports

The Penn State Icers will take on Rhode Island at 7 p.m. at the Penn State Ice Pavilion.

Saturday, Jan. 14

Community Events and Performing Arts

The Penn State Lunar Lion Team will offer an interactive presentation at 10:30 a.m. at the Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania, in downtown State College.

At 2 p.m., the Pennsylvania Military Museum will show a World War II documentary, ‘You Enter Germany — Bloody Huertgen and the Siegfried Line.’

THON Skate, an annual fundraiser and community ice-skating event, is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. on the University Park campus.

Jeffrey Foucault will perform in an Acoustic Brew concert at 7:30 p.m. at the WPSU studios.

Sports

The Penn State Icers will take on Rhode Island again at 3:30 p.m. at the Penn State Ice Pavilion.

Penn State men’s gymnastics will take on Army at 7 p.m. at Rec Hall.

Sunday, Jan. 15

The 37th annual Dr. Martin Luther Jr. King Memorial Banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Ticket information is available via the link on this page.

Sports

The Penn State men’s basketball team will face Minnesota at 4 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.
