Nicholas Cage stars in “Drive Angry,” a 3D movie about an escaped felon intent on finding the vicious group that brutally murdered his daughter and kidnapped her baby.
The newest addition to the Farrelly brothers’ repertoire is “Hall Pass.” The comedy features Jason Sudakis and Owen Wilson as two married men who persuade their wives to give them a one week marriage “hall pass.”

Food
The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel will be hosting the Centre County Republican Committee’s Lincoln Day Gala. The event will feature a keynote address by Karl Rove, as well as dinner and dancing. Reception begins at 6 p.m.
Entertainment
Buddist Monk, Bhante Pemaratana, is visiting Penn State’s Pasquerilla Spiritual Center to speak about dealing with emotions and leading a balanced life. The event begins at 4:15 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Penn State Centre Stage presents “The Beaux’ Stratagem,” a comedy about two men who conspire to marry well and split their wives’ dowries. The show brings together disguise and deception in a restoration romantic comedy. The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. at the Penn State Playhouse Theatre; tickets are $22.

Penn State women’s tennis takes on Virginia Commonwealth University at 5 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 26
Food
The Mount Nittany United Methodist Church will host a Community Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m.; it will feature all-you-can-eat chicken and waffles. Cost is $9 for ages 12 and up and $4.50 for ages five to 11. Take out is available.
Entertainment
Penn State’s engineering students will be competing at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel for this year’s Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. This year’s challenge is to build a machine that waters a plant in 20 or more steps. The doors open at 1:30 p.m, with the contest starting at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
Eric Carbonara and Pairdown will be performing exotic acoustic guitar music at Schlow Centre Region Library beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested.
“The Beaux’ Stratagem” begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Penn State Playhouse Theatre. Tickets are $22.
Sports
Penn State men’s and women’s gymnastics host Ohio State in Rec Hall at 1 p.m. The women’s team has jumped eight spots this week, and is now ranked No. 10.
Penn State women’s lacrosse battles Duquesne University at 1 p.m.
Late Night
Several bars are voluntarily closing for State Patty’s Day.
Sunday, Feb. 27
Family
The Centre County Down Syndrome Society is hosting a family-friendly “Dance Party” for all ages at 5 p.m. in the Bellefonte High cafeteria. The event will include free food, dance competitions, kids’ games, crafts, door prizes and raffles. Donations will be accepted at the door.
Sports
Penn State women’s basketball will be hosting Northwestern in the Bryce Jordan Center at noon. The game is the WBCA’s fifth annual “Pink Zone” game. The Pink Zone game is one of the most prominent breast-cancer-awareness initiatives on campus and raised $80,000 last year.
Penn State women’s tennis takes on Princeton University at 12 p.m.
DVD Releases
New to DVD this week is “Due Date” starring Zach Galifianakis, better known as Alan from “The Hangover,” and Robert Downey Jr. Downey plays a soon-to-be-father trying to make it home for his baby’s birth, but his passenger, Galinfianakis, turns out to be one major roadblock.
The animated movie “Megamind” features the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt in a superhero movie with a twist. The story follows the most brilliant supervillain in the world as he completes his plan of world domination.
