An unfortunate morning for the State College community — the State College Police Department responded this morning to a report of a domestic dispute between a husband and wife that left a woman fatally shot, according to a media release by State College Police.
According to police, the female was dead when they arrived on the scene, a home in the 300 block of Gregor Way.

The husband of the deceased woman remained on scene until police arrived, as did the family’s 19-year old son.
The Centre County Coroner, Scott Sayers, as well as the Centre County District Attorney, Stacy Parks Miller, were called to the scene, where Sayers officially pronounced the woman dead and scheduled an autopsy.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing by State College Police with the help of Miller and Sayers, and the identity of the female is being withheld until the family is notified.
State College Police are not releasing any additional information at the time, but assure the neighborhood’s residents that at no time was there a threat to the community.
