State College will take on Central Cambria on Tuesday night at Pegula Ice Arena for the Laurel Mountain Hockey League varsity championship.
The Little Lions and Red Devils will face off at 7 p.m. for the title.
After a 17-3 regular season, State College entered the league playoffs as the No. 2 seed. On Thursday, the Little Lions knocked off No. 3 seed Altoona, 7-5, to advance to the championship. State College and Altoona had split the regular season series.
As the No. 4 seed, Central Cambria upset No. 1 Hollidaysburg to move on to the title game.
State College won both regular season meetings against Central Cambria, 8-1 on Nov. 8 at Pegula and 5-3 on Jan. 8 in Ebensburg. The teams previously met in the 2016 championship game, a 7-0 State College victory.
The Little Lions’ prolific scoring attack is led on the stat sheet by Robbie Zimmerman with 57 points in 20 regular season games. Goaltender John Olsen faced 309 shots on goal and allowed just 31, stopping 90 percent of shots for a 1.84 goals against average.
Tuesday night’s game will be played on the main ice at Pegula. Fans should use gate B on the Curtin Road side for entrance. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 10 and younger.
